Is it even possible to post to a blog this old? I guess so.
I’ve been, as most of you who read this (Mom, Ricky) know, a little distracted with a lot of things. But I liked posting here so I’m going to keep doing it. Starting now. A new leaf! Until the next time I stop posting.
Destinee commented (thank you, everyone, for all the comments, by the way – they’re like pennies in a jar that can only be spent on my happiness) that she remembers my obsession with finding the funny on teh interwebs in college. It occurs to me now that that’s a little sad – Alden, the filthy, repulsive Truffle Hog of the internet, looking for the jewels of internet comedy for the fleeting gratification of amusing others.
Glad to see things have changed so much for me.
Side note: Chris (playing the kid, and I think writer of this) was one of the writers/producers/? for that pilot I shot a couple months back. The pilot didn’t get picked up, by the way. But if I ever get a copy of it, GUESS WHERE I’LL POST IT!!
My favorite line in this sketch is “Holy Geez!” It’s funnier in context.
They’re gross when they’re green and even grosser when they’re over-ripe. They don’t wait for you to eat them. They wait until you don’t want one and then sprint through their ripe phase and go straight to developing those hideous translucent brown patches. They’re the dry ice of the fruit world, passing from green to rotten, bypassing the delicious window of ripeness altogether. I don’t even like bananas that much, and their continuing obstinance in the face of my many attempts at a peaceful resolution is the last straw.
